TANG SOO
DO is the traditional Martial Art of Korea. It is pronounced (Tung Sue
Doe). As a
traditional martial art, Tang Soo Do offers the individual the ability to
develop both physically and mentally. The result is a mature individual
who is free from inner conflict. This gives him/her the ability to deal
with outer conflict in an intelligent, honest and responsible manner.
In order to learn Tang Soo Do, the individual must first
accept discipline. If the mind accepts discipline, then the mind
will be at peace. Peace makes better concentration.
Concentration makes better balance. Balance makes better speed.
Speed makes better Power. The ability to generate power is one
aspect of the martial art Tang Soo Do.
Tang Soo Do also teaches respect. In order to be
a complete individual, you must have respect for yourself and everyone else,
including your parents, teachers, and older members of society. Character
is built with respect.
The physical aspect is attained through fitness.
Punching and kicking are an integral part of Tang Soo Do. The physical
body is made stronger with hard work and perseverance. The "I
can't" attitude is replaced with "I can!"
Tang Soo Do is for everybody! You are never too old!
Each person learns at their own pace and comfort level. Tang Soo Do is family oriented. Each member
helps the other to achieve his or her maximum potential.
